String Properties

There are three ways to display the string properties.
Double click on a string
Select the string and press the Properties button
Select the string and use the menu Edit/Properties menu.

Click here to Edit a String, add points, delete points etc from the string.

Name
Enter the name of the new string.

Road Chainage
Enter the Road Chainage.

Type
Enter the String type: Lot, Traverse, Road etc.

Layer
Select the layer for the new string.

Line Colour
Select the colour of the string Line from the list. If you do not specify a colour, the layer values will be used by default.

Fill Colour
Select the Fill colour for the string from the list. If you do not specify a colour, the layer values will be used by default.

Style
Select the line style of the string from the list. If you do not specify a style, the layer values will be used by default.

Width
Select the line width of the string from the list. If you do not specify a width, the layer values will be used by default.

Plan
You can optionally attach the String to a Plan, select one from the drop down list. If there are no plans, you can create one with the button ... to the right of the Plans field.


Edit, Create Plan
This button will display the selected Plan for editing.
If there are no plans, you can create one with the button.

Auto Centroid
Check this box to have the centroid for the lot computed automatically. If you move the lot centroid on the screen, this box will automatically be un-checked to indicate that a specific centroid has been manually set.

Discontinuity
Check this box if the string is to be used as a Line of Discontinuity when forming triangles. This means that triangles will not form across a Discon line. This is generally used for features with a change in grade like a creek or bank.

Segments
Press this button to display the String segments.

Use the left/right arrow keys to move through the string segments one by one. The details of each segment (brg, dist etc) are displayed in the 'segments' box

Close String
Press to add a segment from the end point of the string to the start point of the string thus closing the string.

Apply
Press to save the changes to the job.
